Clarence Epstein, PhD, is President and CEO of the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Family Foundation—representing a Montreal family in its third generation of transformational philanthropy. He also manages the legacy projects of the Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation. On behalf of three university beneficiaries, Clarence continues to handle the estate of the German-Jewish art dealer Dr. Max Stern, and he founded the Max Stern Art Restitution Project, which recovers paintings looted during the Nazi era. He held senior positions at Concordia University for almost twenty years in urban planning, built heritage, museum affairs, public art and estate management. In recognition of his expertise in the management of estates and private collections, he served on the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board.
