Legend of Artists (La légende des artistes), 1976

Françoise Sullivan, with the assistance of David Moore and Jean-Serge Champagne, Legend of Artists (La légende des artistes), 1976, showcase dedicated to the Automatistes: metal, wood, glass, and documents.

This was the fourth walk in Sullivan’s oeuvre, created for the public exhibition Corridart, which was organized by the architect Melvin Charney (1935–2012) to coincide with the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. She placed twelve panels and six small exhibition cases on the sidewalks in front of the homes where important intellectuals and artists had lived, or where important cultural events had occurred, inviting the public to discover them as they strolled along. Few people, however, got to experience the work. Inaugurated on July 7, 1976, Corridart was dismantled on July 13.
